Professor Rosenblatt is an Assistant Professor at the Mississippi College School of Law, where he focuses on criminal law and international criminal law. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for the National Institute of Military Justice (NIMJ) and is the President of the Military Justice Committee for the International Society of Military Law of War.
Professor Rosenblatt is a retired Army JAG Lieutenant Colonel. He has defended several high-profile cases, including as the lead military defense counsel in United States v. Bergdahl, the most publicized court-martial in American history. Frank is a former Army prosecutor, defense counsel, and legal advisor, and served as the Deputy Chief of the Army’s 160-attorney Trial Defense Service from 2015 to 2018. Beyond the military, Frank honed his litigation skills as a law clerk in federal court in Washington, D.C., and at a national law firm where he first-chaired litigation in federal and state courts. Frank is now a law professor at Mississippi College School of Law where he teaches Constitutional Law, Evidence, and Trial Practice, among other courses. Frank was voted by students as his law school’s Professor of the Year in 2023.
In addition to his advocacy and teaching, Frank is a leader in the military justice community. He serves as Vice President of the National Institute of Military Justice, President of the Criminal & Disciplinary Law Committee of the International Society of Military Law and the Law of War, and a Court of Appeals Judge on the Mississippi Army National Guard Court of Appeals. He has co-written three books on military justice, including a law school textbook and a court-martial rules guide.
Before his JAG service, Frank served as an Army Infantry officer. His military awards and decorations include the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Combat Action, the Legion of Merit, and two awards of the Bronze Star Medal. He served in four Army combat divisions and two special operations task forces. Frank understands the realities of military life and the politics that often lead to criminal accusations and administrative separations. He believes in client-centered representation and aggressive advocacy.
